Grafton Ferry: Enjoy a Trip to Grafton This Weekend

Catch the Grafton Ferry for your weekend getaway along the Mississippi and Illinois rivers!

Enjoy a tranquil ferry ride across the Mississippi River to downtown Grafton.

Sip wines at award winning wineries. Have a drink alongside the river at local restaurants. Shop until you drop at riverside boutiques.

And this year, just to make traveling to the region a bit more tantalizing, the ferry will expand its operating hours to Thursdays starting May 6. Saturday operating hours have also been adjusted to meet the increased demands for river crossings.

The ferry carries passengers from St. Charles, Mo., to Grafton. The Illinois side of the landing is located near the Grafton Lighthouse and public boat ramp off Market Street. The landing on the Missouri side is at Grafton Ferry Road, which is just off of Highway 94.

The ferry will decrease travel time between St. Charles County to Grafton by approximately 30 minutes. The ferry will be able to accommodate buses and vans and people will be allowed to get out of their vehicles during the trek across the river.

The Grafton Ferry is operated by the Calhoun Ferry Company which also operates the Golden Eagle Ferry in Calhoun County.
