The 1st annual Newt Scoot bike ride will take place in Edwardsville October 19 at 9 a.m. The 11.5 mile loop will follow the Goshen, Heritage, and Nickel Plate trails on the Madison County Transit Trails system with refreshments available after the ride. The ride's name is in honor of Newt the Cat, MCT Trails' beloved orange mascot, who passed away in 2024 after many years tirelessly greeting visitors to the trails. This event is organized in partnership with MCT and Metro East Park and Recreation District and will benefit Metro East Humane Society's mission to improve the lives of people and pets in our community.

*Bring any items from Metro East Humane Society's supply donation list at mehs.org/supplies for a Newt Scoot sticker!
*Parking/staging at MCT Park & Ride Leclaire in Edwardsville, IL (near Market Basket)
*Overflow parking available in the lot to the east, across Troy Road (near ballfield)
*Post-ride refreshments
