Join the Edwardsville Symphony and regional musicians during their 5th Summer Symphony Concert series! Enjoy musical performances by the SIUE Symphony, Edwardsville High School, and area artists performing with a variety of instruments- all held in City Park! Bring your comfiest lawn chair or blanket and listen to free classical tunes on a pleasant afternoon in Edwardsville!

May 29: “Side by Side” with High School String Students
6:30 PM Pre-concert by Edwardsville High School Orchestra, directed by Victoria Voumard
7:00 PM Edwardsville Symphony, music for all generations conducted by Angelina McLaughlin Heil and special guest Maestro Ive Allen, conductor of the Florrissant Valley Symphony and Orchestra

June 26: “We Love to Sing”
6:30 PM Pre-concert by SIUE Suzuki strings, directed by Erika Lord-Castillo
7:00 PM Edwardsville Symphony accompanied by local guest vocalists Eddie Hitchcock, Becky Thorn, Caitlin Hadeler, and Joel Rogier to sing works from popular musicals and operas, Maestro and Edwardsville Symphony pianist, Lisa Cleveland, will conduct a special selection

July 24: “Emotional Roller Coaster”
6:30 PM Pre-concert by the Inner Ear Youth Orchestra, directed by Rosalind-Denise Rogers
7:00 PM Edwardsville Symphony, emotional music from Les Miserable sung by guest Andrew Gibb-Clark, flute soloist Dr. Matthew Allison will perform “Concertino” by the marvelous female composer Cecile Chaminade followed by a special performance of “Forget Me Not” sung by composer Dr. Philip Woodmoore, and performance by Dr. Daniel Smithiger of Marimba solo by Latin composer, Ney Rosario, plus several upbeat works to lighten the mood

August 28: “Around the World”
6:30 PM Pre-concert by Philz’Harmoniks, directed by Phil Tinge
7:00 PM Edwardsville Symphony, a celebration of being a world citizen with works from France, Argentina, Ukraine, Scotland, and the U.S. with special guest saxophone soloists Jerry Cobetto and featured guest conductor Maestro John Meurer performing his own arrangement of a Tango

September 18: Finale Double Concert with SIUE Symphony
6:00 PM Pre-concert by SIUE Symphony, directed by Dr. Michael Mishra
7:00 PM Edwardsville Symphony, an exciting double-symphony concert to end the symphony’s 5th season- includes fan favorite Dr. Jessica Platt performing the first movement of the Brahms violin concerto and other grand finale selections
