The Piasa Free Trappers Rendezvous takes place on the banks of the Illinois River in Hardin. See pre-1840 history come to life as folks dress in clothing from the period and provide demonstrations including archery, tomahawk and knife throwing and more. Visit a large variety of traders and vendors eager to sell items representative of the era, watch traditional handcrafting techniques, listen to historic recreations, watch flint and steel, tomahawk, knife throwing, and blacksmith demonstrations, enjoy food from vendors, and more!

Pre-1840 Dress is REQUIRED and all modern items must be kept out of sight at all times - Firewood and water will be available - Quiet time starts at 11 PM - Leashed pets welcome to vendors - No driving in after Friday 11 PM. Various Camp awards will be taking place as well as a flint and steel competition. Cannons are welcome but daylight shooting only!
