We’re moving into an exciting new phase in technology with the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The impact will be profound and no less groundbreaking than the PC or mobile revolutions. Artificial intelligence and machine learning will be essential in training the next generation of business leaders.

Luan is senior program manager with Google's Coral AI platform team. Sharing industry use cases, he will provide insights into what businesses are doing around the world with AI and ML, and what technology advancements are available for researchers and educators in developing new solutions.

Luan is a graduate of SIUE, and a recipient of a Friends of Lovejoy Library Award personally presented to him by Dr. Earl Lazerson in 1984. Having been in the high-tech industry since graduation in 1985, he has worked at Microsoft and Google for the past two decades leading product development and managing technology evangelism and educational programs for industry and developers around the world. He currently works with the Google Coral team helping industries worldwide adopt AI/ML innovations. Luan was a SIUE Graduate School inductee for the 2016 SIUE Alumni Hall of Fame.
