Any Route 66 tour group itinerary needs to include a refreshment stop at Doc's Soda Fountain. Doc's has been named one of the best soda fountains in the U.S. by Country Living magazine.
Doc's Soda Fountain started out as Deck's Drug Store in 1884. The existing soda fountain was not added until 1929. Three generations of the family ran the store until Bob and Bill Deck retired in 2001. The new owners, Robert and Renae Ernst reopened Doc's in 2007, with the addition of a Pharmacy Museum, displaying items dating back to the early 1800s.
During your stop, your travelers can order a tasty soda treat and can even enjoy a delicious lunch buffet in the adjacent banquet room. Contact the Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau for reservation details.
