Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge is a destination for the whole family. Located at the confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers, visitors have a unique opportunity to experience the wildlife that are attracted to the bottomland forests and backwaters created by these two important rivers. More than 200,000 waterfowl make a stop at the refuge each fall and spring on their biannual migration.

Walking trails and scenic overlooks provide opportunities to view wildlife anytime of the year. Stop at the refuge visitor center to learn what can be seen on your visit. Hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and photography are popular throughout the refuge, as well as hunting in designated areas.

Located just north of Brussels Ferry, a three mile trail runs on top of the levee with the Illinois River and Gilbert Lake on each side. Eagles, great blue heron, pelicans and migrating warblers are easily spotted along the trail.

Cross the Illinois River on the Brussels Ferry or at the Joe Page Bridge in Hardin, to make a stop at the Visitor Center near Brussels. Staff and volunteers can recommend activities to make your experience memorable.
