Let's Go on a Flat Lincoln Road Trip!
Hi everyone! Flat Lincoln here, and I'm ready for a road trip.
There are all sorts of places I'm eager to visit in the Great Rivers & Routes region of southwest Illinois. I heard there's a bronze statue of me in Alton and another in Hillsboro and even one in Bunker Hill. I sure would like to see those. Plus, I haven't really been on Route 66 or seen a giant pink elephant. Those sites are definitely on my bucket list. And then there's Cahokia Mounds, The 1820 Benjamin Stephenson House in Edwardsville ... and the list goes on and on.
Can you help me go on an adventure in southwest Illinois? It's really easy. You can pick me up at the Alton Visitor Center, 200 Piasa St., (I'll be waiting in the plastic drop box at the back door) and then take me on your adventures! Take a picture at each place we go and post on Facebook with the hashtag: #FlatLincolnFun
We are going to have so much fun learning about the area. And, you know, I'd like to meet your family too. So grab your parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles and let's make this a family adventure.
As a thank you for letting me see the sights, the person with the most Facebook post likes at the end of the month will receive a Great Rivers & Routes swag bag full of goodies, including a gift certificate to a local bakery/sweet shop! Be sure to use the hashtag between November and March for a chance to win your own goodie bag.
Pick me up right away or download me at home here! Just print and cut out my shape. And for those who want more fun, there is also a coloring page for you to enjoy.
I can't wait to meet you and enjoy our travels together!
If you have any questions, please call the Alton Visitor Center at: 1-800-258-6645
