Alton Community Tree Lighting

It's never too early to start the holiday celebration!

A Community Holiday Celebration

Join the community for an evening full of festivities at the Community Christmas Tree Lighting in historical Lincoln Douglas Square on Friday, Nov. 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Come enjoy an evening of cookies, carols, hot chocolate, trolley rides and the blessing and lighting of the Christmas tree. This Alton tradition, held annually on the Friday before Thanksgiving, will surely get you in the holiday spirit. Want to make sure Santa hears your wish early? Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive at 6 p.m. to listen to the wishes of all of the good girls and boys.

Families are encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures with Santa and other costumed holiday characters!
