Take the ferry to Grafton for a weekday or weekend adventure along the banks of the Mississippi River.
Starting, Friday, April 10, the Grafton Ferry will run seven days a week and extend to year-round operations (weather permitting).

That means travel to Grafton from Missouri just got a whole lot easier and quicker. Riding the ferry decreases travel time between St. Charles County, MO to Grafton by approximately 30 minutes. The ferry ride takes 5 to 10 minutes.

Enjoy the Views

It’s also a great opportunity to experience a ride across the Mississippi River and enjoy the scenic views of the river bluffs during the crossing.

The Grafton Ferry can accommodate passenger vehicles, vans, buses, semi-tractor trailers, bicyclists and pedestrian travelers. For frequent ferry passengers, a Daily Commuter Pass is available.

Expanding the ferry operating hours and season means the historic and quaint community of Grafton is more accessible to visitors who are eager to visit Pere Marquette State Park, Aerie’s Resort, The Loading Dock, Aerie's Resort; local dining and more throughout the week in addition to weekend stays.

Ferry operating hours are:
• Monday – Thursday: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Friday & Saturday: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Sunday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

More About the Ferry

The City of Grafton purchased the popular ferry thanks in part to a $1.4 million state grant. The city is contracting with the Calhoun Ferry Company to operate the ferry. In the past, the ferry operated Fridays through Sundays from mid-April through mid-November.
