Hosts John and Vicki White purchased the original farmhouse in 1975 to enjoy the country life on the large acreage. Today, the White family wants to share what they have enjoyed for so many years with people who want to escape from the pressures of the modern world. Pheasant Valley Farms is the perfect place to share magical moments with friends and family in a peaceful setting.

While renovating the farmhouse, John and Vicki found newspapers from 1897 insulating the walls. In the attic, they could see the remaining roof of a two-room log cabin. A booklet with some of the newspaper articles and a history of the woman who lived in this house is available for guests to read.
Guests who vacation in the fall can join in the fun of picking the vineyard's grapes during harvest season! The Whites planted the vineyards in 2015, and there are several vineyards throughout the property. In 2016, they planted several different varietals of French hybrid wine grapes (in addition to the Vignoles planted in 2015): Marquette, Traminette, Norton and Niagara. Guests are welcome to explore and enjoy the vineyards.
Hike along the beautiful wooded or creek-side trails at Pheasant Valley Farms. Walk through native grasses and wildflower meadows. Find a sandy beach by the creek bed, take a picnic lunch, and enjoy the tranquil sights and sounds of nature. Feel free to take a refreshing wade in the creek to cool off on a hot summer day.
Pheasant Valley Farms has a stocked pond with bluegill and bass waiting to be caught. Two streams run between the farms. Nearby are numerous large public lakes for fishing and boating pleasure. Coffeen, Hillsboro, Ramsey, Lou Yeager and Carlyle Lakes are just minutes away and can accommodate small and larger fishing boats.
Pheasant Valley Farms is abundant with nature’s wildlife. Look for a beaver cutting on a tree or swimming in the stream. Deer can be seen grazing in the fields in the early mornings and at twilight. Quail, pheasant and turkey can be spotted in the meadows and along the roadside.
The graceful soaring of the “Summer Eagles” in the air currents is a special sighting. Delight in the sight of hawks soaring and owls calling from the forest at dusk. While on the bridge, heron can be spotted in the creek bed. With binoculars, guests enjoy counting all the different bird species. No matter what time of the year, wildlife abounds at Pheasant Valley Farms for guests to enjoy.
