Alton Will Host NCBA DI & DII World Series Over Next Two Years

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Club Baseball Association is pleased to announce that both the 2023 Division I & Division II World Series events will be heading to Lloyd Hopkins Field in Alton, IL. The Division II World Series will take place from May 19-23 & the Division I World Series from May 26 - June 1. Each event will feature 8 Regional winners from across the U.S.

Located just 20 minutes outside of St. Louis along the Mississippi River, Alton will play fantastic hosts to both events.
Lloyd Hopkins Field is primarily home to the Alton River Dragons of the Collegiate Prospect League. The facility also hosts games for numerous local Colleges and High Schools. In 2022 Lloyd Hopkins Field hosted its first NCAA post-season event when in played host to a NCAA DIII baseball Regional.

“We’re thrilled with the opportunity to use a fantastic facility surrounded by all the resources we could ever need to put on a top notch event our teams deserve. The ability to secure a terrific facility that is located towards the center of the U.S. & within 20 minutes of a major airport is just icing on the cake, as we know how much both variables mean to our schools. Big thanks to everyone at the Alton River Dragons & Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau for making this opportunity a reality for us! - Eric Curitore | Vice President of NCBA Baseball Operations

Lloyd Hopkins features an all turf playing surface that was first installed in 2022, which will provide a consistent play for all teams. It’s artificial playing surface also ensures all games each day remain on schedule throughout. The facility features a brand new scoreboard/videoboard, “party decks” above each dugout providing great views & a brand new beer garden down the first base line. All of which will enhance the in game experience for teams & their fans.

“I am so happy & proud of our community for having the chance to host not one, but two national level baseball tournaments at Lloyd Hopkins Field in 2023. I’d like to thank Sandy Sanderson (NCBA President) & Eric Curitore (NCBA VP) for taking the time to visit Alton & Jimmy Henderson (NCBA DII Director) for his time, giving us the opportunity to play host to such amazing tournaments” - Dallas Martz | General Manager | Alton River Dragons
