Groups can schedule a guided tour of the 1820 Colonel Benjamin Stephenson House, a two-story Federal-style brick home with docents dressed in period costumes. The guided tour will also include a demonstration in the kitchen.

The Stephenson House is an important landmark in the establishment of Edwardsville as a center of government as the third oldest city in Illinois. Benjamin Stephenson also played an important role in the emergence of Illinois from a “territory” into the nation’s twenty-first state in 1818.
