Bluestem Vodka is distilled using locally grown corn and is named for the native prairie grasses – Big Bluestem is the State Prairie Grass of Illinois and Missouri. Learn about the history of vodka, gin, & coffee liquor, discover how a still operates, and enjoy a complimentary beverage on your tour. Mashing, fermentation and distillation all occur in one vessel, a local 1950s dairy tank donated by a local farmer.

Throughout the building of the processing area and tasting room, they prioritized utilizing local resources to make the facility rich with local history. For example, the bar top which is slate from the roof of the old Moro train station and the pallet wood for the tasting room wall comes from Scott Airforce base. The distillery supports local businesses and values American made products.

Public tours start at 12 PM and 1:30 PM on Saturdays. To book a tour, please call Chris, Distillery Manager, at 618-660-8879 or email chris.mueller@btodistillers.com
