Jacoby Arts Center
Jacoby Arts Center is a complex for all things creative- from carving to pottery-making, dance to theatrical performance, photography to painting- and everything in between! Jacoby focuses on arts education, offering paid classes and volunteer instruction to the southwestern Illinois community. The large arts center is home to multiple galleries, rentable art studios, a performance venue, and participates in regular cultural outreach initiatives to bring the Alton area's artists and art admirers together.
Classes offered include painting and drawing, wheel-thrown pottery and hand-building pottery, ballet, dance, performing arts, and more- classes vary throughout the year and new and interesting instruction is constantly being added to Jacoby's lineup. The shop on the first floor is full of pieces made by community artists and is perfect for finding singular gifts. Find hand-blown glass, pottery, wooden bowls and spoons, jewelry, prints, paintings, and framed photography in the art shop and support local artists with every purchase!
