Jersey County Arts Council (JCAC)

400 S State St
Dow, Illinois 62052

The Jersey County Arts Council was founded in March 2022 as a nonprofit organization within the historic Jerseyville First Presbyterian Church, built in 1882. The Jersey County Arts Council (JCAC) generates imaginative growth into this historic community with hundreds of artistic events, programs and classes - drawing in thousands of creative minds every year. People within the Jersey County community have expressed how friendly the JCAC community is, which has brought people together to make new friends and share creative perspectives.

Jersey County Arts Council has made huge leaps to include students from Jersey Community Unit School District No. 100 in JCAC programs - such as offering JCAC art projects to the school’s Reading in the Park program and offering JCACs Grocery Bag program, where students have decorated thousands of grocery bags for Sinclair Food. Also, look for JCAC’s Art to Go bags at the Jerseyville Farmers and Artisans Market, where you and your kids can decorate shopping bags to bring with you! For older students ready to move on to college, ask JCAC about their scholarship program, designed to provide all students with the opportunity to study the arts, regardless of finances.
