108 N. 5th St.
Brooklyn, Illinois 62059

Quinn Chapel AME Church is one of the oldest Black churches in America. Founded in 1825, the church is located within the boundaries of Brooklyn, the oldest free slave settlement in the United States. The church was destroyed by fire in 1878 and rebuilt on the same location, which is the same building the congregation meets in today. This is one of the oldest historically Black churches in Illinois where people continue to meet and worship.
