Float on down to the Alton Amphitheatre Saturday, Aug. 29, from 6-10 p.m. to celebrate the living legacy of jazz legend Miles Davis during the Alton Jazz & Wine Festival.
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Alton native's birth, this special evening brings together nationally acclaimed artists who embody the same spirit of innovation, creativity and musical exploration that defined Miles Davis throughout his legendary career.
The evening's lineup features Kasimu Taylor's 100 Miles Tribute, Dave Grelle's Playadors and acclaimed contemporary jazz collective Butcher Brown, whose latest album pays homage to Miles Davis while pushing jazz into exciting new directions.
Enjoy an unforgettable night of live music, wines by the glass or bottle, local food vendors and beautiful views of the Mississippi River. Before the festival, take time to visit Alton's Miles Davis Memorial Statue and downtown mural to experience the city where one of jazz's greatest innovators began his remarkable journey.
