Join Miss Ruthie at the Macoupin Art Collective for a hands-on class where students will create a ceramic watercolor palette small enough to fit inside an Altoids tin — perfect for summer outdoor adventures. Participants will learn simple handbuilding and slab-building techniques, basic glazing methods, how to use a variety of clay tools, and gain an understanding of clay and its properties.

Each student will receive one tin and can create as many mini palettes as time allows during class. Students will also decorate and glaze their pieces for a once-fire finish. Guests are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks, relax, and enjoy a creative afternoon making art.
