REC Fest is here! Join the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rivers Project for the largest recreation and safety festival in the Riverbend! Kick off the summer season with your family at the National Great Rivers Museum on Saturday, May 16, for this free, adventure-themed event, held rain or shine.

With more than 25 partner organizations offering hands-on activities, there is something for everyone to explore and enjoy:

  • Climb the rock wall with Upper Limits Rock Gym & Pro Shop
  • Experience the night sky inside The Nature Institute’s mobile planetarium
  • Test your aim at the archery range with the National Park Service
  • Meet your favorite mascots, including Bobber the Water Safety Dog, Smokey Bear, and more
  • Live animal shows with Animalogy
  • Lock and Dam tours available throughout the day
  • Enjoy a variety of food from local vendors and plenty of additional activities for all ages

The first 200 visitors to complete a REC Fest passport will receive a free ticket to either an Alton River Dragons or Gateway Grizzlies game. All fourth grade students who complete their passport will also receive a free Every Kid Outdoors Pass, providing access to national parks and public lands this summer.
